According to The Washington Post in Can Youth Sports Coverage Pay Off Online? a whole bunch of new blogs, websites, television stations and start-ups are creating a boom in local sports coverage online.
One of those is DigitalSports, a new company based in Columbia (Maryland), that’s planning to make some money in covering youth, club and high school sports.
By coïncidence, while I’m writing this, I receive an unsollicited mail from a firm called from www.scoreradar.com. They have visitited our sports pages, and haven’t found any live scores, results or statistics.
They say:
We are today the fastest live score provider in the market with a comprehensive statistics service linked to the live scores and I assume this could be interesting for your readers. The statistics service for football contains league tables, head-to-head info, historical data, top scorer lists, cup trees, injury lists and suspensions.
We have the biggest news and sports sites in Scandinavia, Spain and Germany, where we provide our live scores and statistics services together with our odds comparison service. Please have a look at our website to see the various products we offer – and to which customers.
Besides football, we also have for example tennis, hockey, basketball, motor sports and winter sports.
Never hurts to talk, does it?
