Ramit: My name is Ramit Sethi and I thought I’d write you a quick note. I know you’ve written about wikis before, so I think you might find this interesting.
I’m part of a very small company that’s released a new wiki called PBWiki (“As easy to create as a peanut butter sandwich”). Our founder created it just a few hours, during an overnight hackathon, and it’s now become the most popular wiki farm online. We just crossed 8,000 wikis today!
Would you be interested in writing about this to illustrate the influence of collaborative software? I’m happy to make us available for any interviews or questions you might have. You can even set up your own wiki (maybe http://leon.pbwiki.com!) at http://www.pbwiki.com. It takes about 10 seconds and is free.

Wakupedia: 'verkrachting van content'? 'zoveelste aanleiding'? 'devaluatie'? Jullie zijn geen voorstander van wiki's, da's duidelijk. Maar goed dat een professioneel journalist als Krijnen de facts altijd straight heeft. oh wacht...Jim Wales: a fair amount of my time was spent this morning trying to complain about a rather absurd story published by Reuters which claims that I've announced some major changes to Wikipedia editorial policy. It's a fine story except for the tiny detail of being completely false. Of course slashdot and a ton of newspapers and websites picked up the story and ran with it, causing a fair amount of speculation based on, well, absolutely nothing.

Wikipedia gaat het anders doen
Het was natuurlijk niet zo moeilijk te voorspellen dat er iets met Wikipedia zou gaan gebeuren. Alle open directory systemen vragen vroeg of laat om problemen, en als er maar genoeg problemen komen, dan zal er iets aan gedaan moeten worden. Oprichter Jimmy Wales van Wikipedia heeft nu strengere regels aangekondigd ter voorkoming van de verkrachting van de content - en de daarmee onvermijdelijk gepaard gaande devaluatie - van Wikipedia.
De zoveelste aanleiding was bijvoorbeeld de grappenmaker die na het overlijden van de vorige paus diens portret op Wikipedia omtoverde tot dat van Darth Vader.
